After working 6:30 - 6:00 most of last week I'm exhausted and am happy to have a weekend with no work. Although, I need to go in I have decided to put it all off until tomorrow. . . The extra money I will be receiving in two weeks will be well worth the sacrifice.
Yesterday was slightly busy with cleaning and getting dinner together. Todd's "cousin" Lisa, her daughter & mother plus Sandy, Todd's mother came over for dinner. I made lasagne and a salad referred to as Lisa's salad - all was delicious and everyone loved it. Todd even said it was the best lasagne he'd ever had. . . For someone who is usually critical of my inability to cook this was quite the compliment.
Today we went to church, they talked about how others view you and how god views you - appearance wise. It was interesting and good to talk with the girls about. We made a short trip to the mall afterwards so I could exchange some shirts and get Ashlee's glasses fixed. Now we're back home, pot roast - YUM is in the crockpot and its time for some relaxation and hopefully some scrapbooking.
Happy week everyone. . .

2007 Off and Running
So I haven't posted yet this year. . . Sorry about that.
2007 for me is off and running. It has been a fun, eventful, and productive year thus far. We have already had my mom's birthday, Todd's mom's birthday and a couple of snow/ice days. I have kept busy with my scrapping as the creative juices for me this year have been flowing like I've needed them to for a while now. At this point I've already completed 26 layouts, 3 cards, and 1 altered frame. I couldn't ask for much more!!
Girl Scout cookies officially went on sale yesterday so we had Kaylee call many of our friends and family to hit them up before anyone else had the chance. We've already sold 10 boxes and I have many already spoken for between my work and my mother's. These are dangerous for me though, I LOVE the new Lemonades cookie - they are delicious!!
Today, Kaylee and I are going to deliver some cookies and with any luck I'll be able to get the dogs clipped today but I'm not holding my breath since I waited until the last minute. . . Minor cleaning is in store for me and then hopes of some scrap time.

The day after. . .
So life was a little hectic yesterday. . . Sorry blog.
Thanksgiving was fabulous. Everyone was here - my parents and brothers and Todd's mom and sister all came and of course I had the girls over Thanksgiving this year. I awoke at 6:30 to get the stuffing made and in the turkey so it could cook. In between basting the turkey and cooking other things Todd and I were both trying to make sure the house was as picked up as we could get it. Nothing like a fast paced morning & early afternoon to build an appetite. My family arrived around 1:00 as my mom was to help me finish getting everything ready. We set the extra tables and chairs up, laid down the tablecloths and my girls even set the table. What fine helpers they were. Todd's mom & sister arrived around 2:30 and at the time we were merely waiting on the rolls to heat up. Soon enough, "let's eat" rang out across the house. Everyone grabbed a plate and filled it high. One by one everyone sat and began to eat. I was a little disappointed, as although never our tradition, I had hoped to go around, say a prayer & what we were thankful for. I kept it to myself though and began eating too. Oh and as I dug in I remembered so why I love this holiday more than any other. . . The family is all together and you can't get better food anywhere in the world. I guess now that I know how to make everything I could have it whenever I wanted. . . After we ate I cleaned. Ugh - no fun but somebody's got to do it and I knew I wouldn't want to later. The boys gathered around the football game, Todd's mom & sister visited with the girls and my mom assisted a little with the cleaning. Shortly after Sandy (Todd's mom) and Lynn (Todd's sister) gathered their things and hit the road. They were going to a family friend's house for dessert. After they left everyone continued to hang around for a bit and then we put the movie "Cars" on until mom and dad decided it was time to go. Scottie was getting anxious and I could tell my parents were ready for bed themselves. Andrew (my brother) stayed behind. He and his buddies were going downtown later that night. It gave us a chance to visit a bit since we rarely get to see one another. Once he left I didn't see him again. From what mom said today though he had a good time. Before retiring to bed last night I managed to get one scrapbook layout completed and went to bed when I ran out of ideas for another.
Now to today. . .
I awoke a few times this morning but had a lot of luck going back to sleep. I officially got out of bed at 9:30 this morning. It was nice getting to sleep in as I can't remember the last time I had been able to do that. The girls had been fed breakfast and were coloring at the table. I briefly tidied up the kitchen, visited with Todd a bit and then decided to hit the scrap table again. I got another layout done. =) Todd came in and reminded me that the Longhorn game was on. Shortly thereafter I came out to the living room and watched some of the game with him until I dozed off on the chair. I woke up with a headache and of course to find that the Horns were doing lousy. . . Long story short we lost the game to our arch rivals the Aggies.
Previously I was given a 15% off coupon to a scrapbook store in Round Rock. I wanted to go check it out and see what they had this weekend. In addition, I needed to look at Hobby Lobby and Michael's for some trees for my mom's ornaments. Ashlee had been passed out all day and seemed a little under the weather so Kaylee and I hit the stores. We stopped at Hobby Lobby first and HOLY COW - a ton of scrapbook stuff was 50% off. Needless to say we cleaned up and I even got a few things for the girls and Todd's mom for Christmas. Afterwards we went to Target for some necessities and then checked out Michael's which was a huge disappointment compared to Hobby Lobby this time around. Kaylee was a bit hungry so we stopped at McDonald's and ate before heading home. No time for the scrapbook store after that.
That's pretty much the day. . . I took advantage of some online sales and scrapped some more. Now I'm taking a break from the scrap table and playing a game of poker. Hopefully I'll have as much luck as the other night. . .
Until next time. . .

Thanksgiving Eve
Its Thanksgiving Eve and I'm home with the kids, countless chores to do. This morning, however, I can't seem to get away from the computer. Checking out websites and catching up on message boards has consumed my morning.
Last night I played a little online poker. . . I won the biggest pot I have ever won - $112.50. I am a nickel and dimer so winning the 90 person $5.00 buy in tournament made my evening and is still fresh on my mind today. Although, this is little money, the fact that I won and won 20+ times my buy in only encourages my poker skills. Now to get up the courage to play some higher buy ins. . .
Today's agenda includes tons of "fun" activities. . . Cleaning the ENTIRE house and getting things ready for tomorrow is obviously priority. I plan to string this throughout the day as much as possible but will make sure this is done before Todd gets home from work this evening - I don't want to hear it from him!! Aside from cleaning I need to attend to my true passion - scrapbooking. My grandmother has been sick for a while and is not looking good. Tomorrow I will be taking many family photos and will put together a small tin with them scrapped for her to keep in her nightstand.
